Chickpea /Chola Boot (ছোলা)
Chickpea or Chola boot (ছোলা) is a very well known ingredient in Bengali food. It is a must-have item at the time of Iftar at Ramadan.
Chola or boot (ছোলা বুট) is a high-protein food. It is an excellent source of chlorophyll, vitamins (A, B, C, D, K), magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, fiber, fat, copper, manganese, folic acid, fiber and mineral salts. Chola can be eaten raw, boiled or fried. However, nutritionists sometimes say that raw chola is more beneficial and rich in nutritional value. Anyone can eat it by making besan, or can also eat it by making chatu.
